Kindness Box

Here’s how to cheer someone up with a Kindness Box!  With a download from Bell for their Let’s Talk initiative,  you’ll get everything you need to make the box and ideas for what to write on the paper strips you’ll put inside!

Get Your Kindness Box Download

Click this link to download the kindness box instructions from the Bell Let’s Talk Toolkit.  It includes origami gift box instructions and a list of suggested messages to include inside your box.

How to Cheer Someone Up

Once you’ve created your box, turn to the messages page that comes with your download. It includes a list of ideas for yourself- because we can all use some reminders about how great we are, and you don’t have to wait for someone else to do it for you!  There’s also a list of suggestions for things to write about a friend if you’re making this box of kindness as a gift for a friend.

Once you’ve filled out your strips, just cut them up, fill your box, and you’re ready to cheer someone up!  You could even stick a piece of two of chocolate or candy in the box to sweeten the surprise!

Other Ways to Connect

If you’re interested in this activity, you may be looking for ways to connect. We published a post during the first pandemic lockdown all about staying connected during a lockdown ! It includes a video and a handout with ideas for connecting with others while staying physically distant.

Bell Let’s Talk Day

Bell Let’s Talk Day is coming up on January 22nd this year.  It’s an opportunity for us all to help spread the word about mental health.  Bell will be donating $10 million to fund mental health initiatives in 2023.

On January 22 and every day throughout the year, we can all take meaningful action to create positive change. You can use the actions below for inspiration or come up with your own. Share your actions using #BellLetsTalk to help inspire others!

  • Choose a mental health organization to learn about or support
  • Help a friend struggling with mental health issues by learning ways to support them
  • Ask about how your school, workplace, or community is creating change for mental health
  • Nurture your own well-being by practicing and learning mental health strategies
  • Get involved in a mental health initiative or organize an event to support mental health
  • Engage in conversations about mental health to fight stigma

We’ll be sharing more details and information on the  Qualia Facebook Page  as we get closer to that date and sharing more resources here on the blog.
